I would have filed both returns using TurboTax. But there was a gotcha at the end of the federal return: The state return, which takes only moments more to complete, would have cost $36.95 more.

Faxing Tax Return tip... if you're going to fax in your tax returns... make sure that you always ensure that all of the fax pages have gone through properly. If they haven't all gone through, you'll have an incomplete return, because it wasn't faxed properly.
